Maximilian Bösch, PhD

Medical Scientific Director

After finishing his diploma studies on molecular biology at the University of Salzburg/Austria, Maximilian joined the Medical University of Innsbruck/Austria where he focused on oncology and clinical translation of innovative treatment concepts. He earned a PhD degree in molecular oncology in early 2014 based on a thesis on ovarian cancer stem cells. Maximilian subsequently joined Oncotyrol – Center for Personalized Medicine GmbH (Innsbruck/Austria) to commercialize PhD thesis-related data. This led to a patent application reporting on a novel prognostic and predictive marker for cancer.

In 2015, Maximilian was awarded the prestigious Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), with a proposal on breast cancer and the tumor microenvironment. He moved to the Kantonsspital St. Gallen/Switzerland where he implemented the project and also gathered valuable knowledge about tumor immunology and infectiology. As of 2017, Maximilian has published more than a dozen of scientific articles in leading journals of the field and presented his work at numerous national and international meetings.

Maximilian brings along strong entrepreneurial spirit as well as great expertise in medical oncology and tumor immunology. An expanding professional network and contacts to key opinion leaders in both medicine and pharma are also provided.
