Reinhard Braun, Chairman of the Board
After finishing his engineering-degree in electronics at the HTL Bregenz, Austria 1983 he started to work as the Head of Product Development of control systems for textile machines at Oehler AG (Au, CH). After that he became a Software Engineer at Grossenbacher AG (St. Gallen, CH) dealing with CNC control systems for high end machine tools. Realising a business opportunity in mechatronic system sector he founded his own company Pantec Engineering AG (Ruggell, Liechtenstein) with his partner in 1990. Over the last 15 years he grew the company to 4 business units in textile, printing, CMM and semiconductors, with thousands of high end control systems all over the world, bringing Pantec from 2 to 75 employees. In order to develop his commercial know-how, he did an on the job one-year course, "Sales and marketing director" at the University of St. Gallen . Reinhard brings into the company excellent knowledge of a broad technology range as well as proven entrepreneurial, commercial and business development experience.

Univ. Prof. Dr. Herbert Zech, IVF-Specialist, Board Member
After medical school at the University of Innsbruck, Herbert moved to the University of Graz and Innsbruck for a professional training as a gynaecologist finishing this speciality in 1982. Herbert was always research oriented and moved to the United States for a post doc at the University of Louisville Kentucky working on basic cancer research with steroid receptors and vitamin A-receptors in rodents and in man. From there he went back to the University of Innsbruck and became Head of the Department of Endocrinology. In 1984 he moved to Bregenz and started the first IVF-Clinic realising the big need for infertility treatment. The first IVF children in southern Germany, Switzerland and western Austria were the results of the initial months of therapy in Bregenz. In order to further develop this technique and the potential for the future he founded the first private clinic for in vitro fertilisation in Austria and was also the first to be ISO certified worldwide in the field of reproductive technologies. Realising the deep desire for children, Herbert founded further IVF-centers in Italy, in Switzerland, in the Czech Republic and in Salzburg, Austria. The total workforce in all centres is 80 and is increasing. In recognition of his ongoing research efforts, Herbert was promoted professor at the University of Innsbruck in 1999, where he teaches reproductive technologies and endocrinology. Herbert brings into the company excellent knowledge of a broad spectrum in endocrinology, genetics, embryology and stem cell research, a global network of medical collaborators, as well as proven entrepreneurial commercial business development experience.

William D. Dearstyne, Board Member
William D. Dearstyne retired in April 2003 from his position as Company Group Chairman and member of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Group Operating Committee of Johnson & Johnson. During the 34 years of his career managing diversified healthcare companies, he earned business experience in Asia, Central and Eastern Europe as well as Latin America. He served in many different functions during his 26 years at Johnson & Johnson. Within this period, he also led two major acquisitions for the company "Cordis and DePuy" both of which today occupy leadership positions in interventional cardiology and orthopedics respectively. William D. Dearstyne studied at Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA) and at Syracuse University (Syracuse, New York) where he earned an MBA in International Business.

Werner Braun, Mag., Pharmacist, Board Member
Werner Braun, born in 1964, has taken over the "Stadtapotheke Bregenz" (main pharmacy), Austria, in 1993 and developed it into a modern process orientated provider of drugs to the patient. In particular he has established a "Just in time" warehouse facility for a special set of drugs that he always has on stock to serve several thousand patients. Werner Braun studied pharmacy at Leopold Franzens University in Innsbruck, Austria and finished it with his degree in Pharmacy. He also gained experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the company Serocytologie in Lausanne.

Michael Armbrüster, Board Member
Mr. Armbrüster, born in 1964, graduated from the University of Evansville in the U.S. with a Bachelor of Science degree in international business in 1986.
Immediately upon graduation, he accepted a position with one of the world's largest commodity houses based in Switzerland. After his initial training, he eventually rose to become a senior trader with postings in Australia, Hong Kong, Switzerland and the United States. He was made a senior partner and in his last position, he was head of the aluminium operations of both North and South America. He was also extensively involved in the acquisition of three aluminium manufacturing facilities as well as being their president. At the peak, these companies employed over 2500 employees. He also held numerous board positions. After a 19 years career, he resigned in 2004 and decided, together with a partner, to form JB Commodities in early 2005. In just three years, the firm has grown to four offices in four countries with the headquarter being in Switzerland, and focuses on physical commodity trading as well as financial futures with extensive contacts including venture capital and hedge funds.

Burkhard Feurstein, Board Member
Mr. Feurstein, Director of Finance of gcp gamma capital partners AG, a Venture Capital investment company, has over 20 years experience in investment and project finance, over 10 years of which in Venture Capital, both as direct and fund investor. Prior to GCP, he was Managing Director of Vienna-based tech-VC Invest Equity early stage; during the 1990 he initiated and implemented the government-sponsored capital guarantee scheme (AWS) that helped kick-start the Austrian VC industry. His core expertise lies in finance and turn-around management, operative experience as an industrial manager in the life sciences (biopharmaceuticals and medtech) industries. Mr. Feurstein has a M.S. degree in theoretical physics from Vienna Technical University.

Dr. Manfred Asamer, Board Member Manfred Asamer was born on May 10th 1962 in Bad Ischl, Austria. After finishing secondary school in Gmunden in 1980 he studied at Johannes Kepler University Linz, and graduated in 1985 (Law, Management with a special focus on Marketing and Accounting). In 1985 he joined Goizueta Business School at Emory University/Atlanta for a 1-year postgraduate MBA program. After finishing military service he entered his fathers company Asamer + Hufnagl and developed finance and marketing departments. In 1996 he took over the position of CEO of Asamer + Hufnagl – building materials and in 2004 he was appointed managing director of Asamer Holding AG. During this time the company has developed to a 600 million ¤ operation, active in 19 countries all over Central and Eastern Europe as well as in the middle East and in Libya. Manfred is active in industrial associations where he was President of the Austrian Aggregates Association for more than 10 years. Furthermore he was President of the European Aggregates Association during the term 2003-2005. Since 2009 he is President of the Austrian Building Materials Industry.

Dr. Werner Lanthaler, Board Member Dr Werner Lanthaler was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Evotec in March 2009. From March 2000 to March 2009 he was Chief Financial Officer at Intercell AG. During his tenure, Intercell developed from a venture-backed biotechnology company into a global vaccine player. Dr Lanthaler played a pivotal role in many of the company's major corporate milestones including the product approval of Intercell's Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine, the company's acquisitions and strategic pharma partnerships, as well as the company's Initial Public Offering in 2005. Previously, from 1998 to 2000 Dr Lanthaler served as Director of the Federation of Austrian Industry, and from 1995 to 1998 as Senior Management Consultant at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He holds a doctorate in economics from Vienna University, earned his Master's degrees from Harvard University, and holds a degree in Psychology.

Dr. Christof Böhler, Chief Executive Officer
After finishing his PhD in chemistry at ETH Zurich dealing with bio-polymeric drug release systems, Christof moved to the United States for a Postdoc at the Salk and Scripps Research Institutes in La Jolla (CA, USA) carrying out bio-medical basic research. From there he started to work as the head of development for a start up biotech company in Zurich, whose process has now been commercialized. Realizing the need to develop his commercial know-how, he moved into product management of research chemicals and biologicals at Fluka Chemie AG (a Sigma Aldrich company, Buchs, CH). During his Fluka time he completed a postgraduate executive degree in "International Management" at the FH Liechtenstein and UBC Vancouver (Canada). His further career involved Business Development Manager Europe and Business Manager for Maybridge, a Drug Discovery service company, and finally Marketing Director "Drug Discovery Chemicals" for Acros/Maybridge (Fisher Scientific). Christof brings into the company excellent knowledge in the bio-medical sector, proven hands on commercial skills, as well as a global network of key decision makers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
